Tekno Team Driver Spotlight: Mike Lavarello

TH: How old are you and where are you from?
ML: I am 47 years old and I am originally from the Southern California. I now call Meridian, Idaho my home.

TH: Favorite Class at the races?
ML: My favorite class to run is 1/8 Ebuggy.

TH: Best moment with the Tekno Team?
ML: Back in May of 2019 at the Hank Perry race in Spokane, Washington our then at the time regional team manager Jesse Munn could not make the race and tasked the team to represent the Tekno brand and help out as many Tekno drivers as we could with parts and race setups. I felt we really pulled together as a team and elevated the Tekno brand as the cars to beat with customer service that Tekno is known for.

TH: What are your racing goals for 2020?
ML: With our local track Eagle Hills rc Raceway in Eagle, Idaho only a few blocks away from work, I plan to practice as much as I can to be more consistent on the track to better my race results. My Ultimate goal would be to make every a-main 40+ nitro buggy race on the Northwest Championship Tour (NCT).

TH: Favorite Tekno Upgrade Part?
ML: The 3.5mm hinge pin/A arm upgrade for the EB/ET 410 was a real game changer. It made the cars even more bullet proof!

TH: Event you look forward to the most in the next year?
ML: Every year with the help of our local fire department we hold The Burnout Fund race that raises money for people that lose their home due to fire. Last year we raised $500 dollars to help that cause and plan to raise even more this year.

TH: Anyone you would like to thank?
ML: Of course I would like to thank Jesse Munn for believing in me and bringing me on the team to represent Tekno RC. Big thanks to our current team manager Tayler Wonders for the continued Support needed to represent Tekno here in southern Idaho. I would also like to thank the Campbell family (Jim, Sherri and Ty) of Tekin Racing for supplying me with the best electronics in rc. Last but not least our local club (Treasure Valley rc Racers) for always sticking together no matter what life throws at us to bring fun racing to the Boise area!
