Tekno RC Team drivers Ryan Lutz and Joe Bornhorst had a very successful weekend at the 2016 Southern Indoor Championship race in Autaugaville, Alabama, while Tekno RC’s Shaun Kirkman wins the Truggy class at Grassroots Rnd1. Here is a small report from each race:

2016 Southern Indoor Championships Report:

Ryan Lutz wins all 3 Pro classes at the 2016 Southern Indoor Championships with Joe Bornhorst taking 2nd in all 3 classes! They battled over the top spot and were within a few seconds of each other during the full 30 minute nitro buggy main, much to the viewing pleasure of all the spectators on hand! It came down to the last few laps for the deciding pass and the win!

Electric buggy A1 was a battle for four minutes or so, unfortunately Joe would fall back and Ryan would pull away for the win. Ryan would then seize an early early opportunity in A2 and pull away for a win securing the overall. Joe would command the win in A3 by leading wire to wire and taking 2nd overall.

As Joe and Petit battled for position in the nitro truggy final Ryan would benefit, establishing a 12 second lead by first pit stop and winning by a lap. Joe ran a strong race taking 2nd by over a lap on 3rd.

2016 Grassroots Rnd1, Report by Shaun Kirkman:

Had an awesome time at the first round of the 2016 Grassroots racing series at Thunder Alley in Beaumont, Ca. We had a good turnout of 205 entries and the layout was built by the one and only Joey C. from The Dirt racing. My buggy was great the entire day! I ended up qualifying 5th in the main. It was a very long day so I decided to sign up for truggy and just race the main! I started 13th and worked my way up for the lead to take the win over teammate Chad Panek. In the buggy main my car felt great.  I had a great start and was able to hitch on to Cody King and never looked back, taking 2nd. Cars were amazing!
