NB48 2.0 Build (Bag L-S)

NB48 2.0 Build (Bag L-S)

Follow along as we give some insight on how to build the new NB48 2.0 Kit with both photos and videos from Tyler Hooks. This article focuses on Bags L-S.

Alright everyone, the NB48 2.0 kits are starting to ship so here is a little guide to building your own.

Bag L-M:

Bags L and M are both the shock bags so I just did them together. The shock bodies and shock shafts are the same front and rear.  The bushings and springs are the only major difference front and rear.

I like to use shock oil to grease the o-rings and use a little locktite when installing the bottom cap.

Make sure to install the shock boots before you install the rod ends.

To finish the shocks off make sure to follow the directions and bleed them twice. Then set the droop with a caliper.

Bag N:

Bag N is the radio tray which is in multiple different parts to aide in proper flex characteristics. There is ample room for electronics.

I don't like using a switch so I show how I wired my car. I use a clip that keeps my car plugged in, and just unplug it when I turn it off.

Bag O:

Bag O is time for the clutch and air filter. The NB48 2.0 uses the clutch as the .4 with a more conventional air filter setup.

The motor mount is elongated and integrated into where the fuel tank mounts. Make sure to use loctite on the bottom motor mount screws into the chassis, but I don't recommend using them in the top where the motor mounts.

Bag P:

Bag P is the linkage which is all new for the car. The steering linkage goes together like the .4 but the throttle is all new to match the new radio tray.

It's easiest to take the top plate off to install the brakes properly.

Bag Q:

Bag Q is the fuel tank which is also new though it mounts very similarly to the .4. I don't recommend using the stock fuel line but it is nice to have in a pinch. This thing also comes with a tank pull which is new.

Bag R-S:

Bag R-S is the final finishing touches and some extra pieces. I didn't do much with this so enjoy a quick preview and a running video from Abid Hussain of me running at Thornhill Racing Circuit at the end.
