Readers’ Rides: Custom Traxxas Slash VXL [January 2012]

28 January, 2012

Custom Traxxas Slash VXL: This inspirational rig comes to us from Karl Sandvik and he based it on a Traxxas Slash VXL. The custom body was build was a combination of aluminum and Shoe GOO.  Instead of buying lights for this truck, Karl made them from soda can aluminum for the buckets, LEDs from a flashlight and a deconstructed water bottle was used for the lenses.  He made the drivers with J-B Weld and a Play-Doh mold and the helmets were filled with Bondo so that he could carve our faces. The list of handmade features goes on and on.

Karl Sandvik – Lansford, ND

Gear Used:

Pro-Line Pro-Trac front suspension arms

Traxxas Rustler rear arms

Pro-Line Split Six beadlock wheels

Pro-Line Trencher tires
