| We first showed you the Alex Racing personal lap-counting system in our March 2001 issue. Team Orion and Alex Racing now offer the latest version of one of the best personal lap-counting systems ever made. With Orion as the distributor, it should be readily available worldwide. It’s a really handy tool to have at the track, and it virtually eliminates the need to have someone clock your laps. Install the transponder and place the main unit on the side of the track; it does the rest for you and audibly lets you know whether you are hitting your preset target times.Features: The lap-counting unit uses infrared (IR) light to communicate with the vehicle transmitting unit. Counts lap times within 1/100 second LCD backlit display shows best lap, individual lap times and total race time. Adjustable target lap time. Audible signal indicates: start, each lap, best lap, laps under target time and end of practice. 100 different transponders available; counting system can be adjusted to work with any transponder.
