Horizon Hobby RC Fest Rocked! [VIDEO]

If you were in Monticello, IL for Horizon Hobby RC Fest, you already know it was a blast. For the rest of you, consider it a destination for 2019! The Horizon Hobby crew came out in force to make sure everyone had a great time, with non-stop demonstrations and try-me activities on the ground and in the air for RC modelers (and soon-to-be-RC-modelers) of all ages and skill levels. With everything from 200mph jet aircraft, FPV drone racing, rock crawling, two full days of off-road TLR Cup action, warbirds, and all sorts of models and gear on display from Losi, ECX, TLR, Tamiya, Pro-Line, Pit Bull, Venom, and more, there was plenty to do and see all weekend. Take a look…

The TLR Cup track was in great shape and groomed all weekend for nitro and electric 1/8 scale buggy and truggy action. Lots of good racin’ here!

Here’s a little slow-mo action from TLR Cup practice. The crew kept the track in good shape all weekend.

Manning the hoses. The real-dirt track kept drivers on their toes.

Horizon’s Andew Zigler was one of the many smiling mugs glad to help RC Fest’ers with all their RC questions. The crew looked like they had as much fun as the fans.

Tamiya brought all their hottest kits. Gotta make sure you get a catalog at this tent.

Tamiya’s Mini 4WD track was a hit with the kids.

You probably know Paul from his starring role in many Pro-Line videos. He was digging on RC Fest too.

Pro-Line Alley was the place to be for side-by-side monster truck racing.

The No-Limit RC guys came to get down!

The Venom guys had their multi-channel chargers blasting all weekend to keep all the Try-Me vehicles and RC Fest’ers cars juiced up.

Look at (and listen to) this monster! Greg Hahn’s massive Caproni three-engine WWI bomber looked fantastic in flight.

The big jets were major scene-stealers at RC Fest. If you don’t look up when you hear that turbine roar, you’d better check your pulse.

This was intense. Jase Dussia, world-famous aerobatic pilot, but on an ah-mazing show of RC skill with this wild night flight.

If you hear, “RC car jumping over RC helicopter” and your first thought is “oh man, I hope they crash,” well, here you go!

That’s what happens when your heli gets whacked by a Baja Rey.

Here’s a Losi Desert Buggy XL-E, flying high during the Big Squid long-jump competition.

Look at this sky shot! At some point, these long-jump guys need to start thinking about deploying parachutes.

Doin’ work on the tractor pull course with the Chi-Town RC guys. Watch this rig really dig in…

Pit Bull came out to play with all their latest stuff and a challenging truck course.

Here’s the new ECX Barrage Gen 2 dressed up in Pro-Line gear getting in a night-run on the Pit Bull course.

The Pit Bull course included corn, because why not? Brian Parker of Recon G6 fame designed the highly technical layout.

Hundreds of kids got to drive and fly RC for the first time at RC Fest. Welcome!
