Fine Design has released the very first ready-to-run, water-cooled, brushless conversion for a nitro vehicle. Fine Design took the popular 1/8-scale Kyosho Inferno GT series of nitro touring cars and converted them to electric using a high power Fine Design Nemesis Blue brushless motor and 4S 3700 LiPo battery pack. What makes these vehicles extra special is the water cooling system that allows the car to run at high speed in very hot temperatures without overheating and shutting down. The cooling system has a pump that is powered by its own LiPo pack, that sends water through a cooling jacket on the motor and speed control. The water then passes through a coil of metal tubing that is further cooled by an electric fan.

Fine Design is offering the converted Kyosho Inferno GT as a complete RTR. There are four bodies to choose from; Aston Martin DBR-9 shown here, BMW M3 GTR, Subaru Impreza WRC, and Ferrari F430 GT. When I say complete, I mean complete—even the batteries for the transmitter are included. The cars will sell for an introductory price of $895. Fine Design is planning on selling the cooling system as its own item for $139.
