The Mandrel System Allows Better Performance for a Wide Range of Materials

 Pull, twist and release is all it takes to use the EZ Lock Mandrel System’s new accessories with Dremel^® rotary tools. The revolutionary EZ Lock Mandrel System, a one-piece mandrel designed to eliminate the need for a screw and screwdriver to change accessories, is expanding its line-up with the addition of the EZ Lock Diamond Wheel, EZ Lock Carbide Cutting Wheel and EZ Lock Thin Cut Wheel. Compatible with all Dremel rotary tools, the new accessories increase the range of the EZ Lock System, allowing users to take on tile, masonry, wood, laminate and metal cutting projects.

EZ Lock Diamond Wheel

One of three new accessories available for the EZ Lock System, the Diamond Wheel can make a clean cut through 1/2-inch thick ceramic floor and even porcelain tiles with little dust, making it the perfect solution for adding or expanding bathroom outlets or fixtures. The EZ Lock Diamond Wheel cuts 50 percent longer and 25 percent faster on floor tile than the standard Dremel Diamond Wheel. Model EZ545 has a suggested retail price of $19.99.

EZ Lock Carbide Wood Cutting Wheel

The Carbide Wood Cutting Wheel can cut up to two times faster than the previous Dremel Cutting and Shaping Wheel, has more durability and is the first Dremel wood-cutting wheel with a 1/2-inch depth of cut. Ideal for cutting out wooden letters for signage and flooring, it cuts through the material quickly and efficiently. The EZ Lock model EZ544 Carbide Cutting Wheel is available for a suggested retail price of $15.99.

EZ Lock Thin Cut Wheel

The new Thin Cut Wheel is a reinforced cutting wheel designed to eliminate breakage and apply more accurate cutting to the task at hand. At only 30/1000-inch thick, the accessory is handy for re-slotting screws and making delicate cuts on projects like model train tracks and remote control cars. The EZ409 Thin Cut Wheel lasts up to four times longer compared to the previous model, no. 409 non-reinforced cut-off wheel. The suggested retail price for a 5-pack is $9.99.

The Dremel EZ Lock accessories have higher performance standards in durability and speed and the Dremel EZ Lock Mandrel System is compatible with all Dremel rotary tools.  The EZ Lock cut-off wheels last twice as long as Dremel’s current fiberglass-reinforced cut-off wheels. 

The EZ Lock Starter Kit, which includes the EZ Lock Mandrel and five reinforced cut-off wheels is currently available for $14.99 at most hardware and home improvement centers nationwide. Additional accessories, including cloth polishing wheels and fine, media and coarse abrasive buffs are sold separately for $3.99 – $9.99. The EZ Lock expansion accessories will be sold separately at most hardware and home improvement centers nationwide beginning in October 2007.
