Custom Scale Little Red Wagon [READER’S RIDE]

Scott Lempert, one of our scratch-build regulars, is back at it with another tribute to a drag-racing classic: The Little Red Wagon Dodge A100 — the legendary wheelie machine driven by Bill Golden from 1965 to 1975. Scott built the body out of styrene sheet after studying numerous period photos of the LRW. He also crafted his own chassis out of steel tube that he split in half. He borrowed axles from the Tamiya King Hauler, and locked up the rear diff. Power comes from a Leopard 3650kV motor running through a Castle SV3 controller. For his wheelie setup Scott runs Pro-Line Prime 2.2 dirt track tires on narrowed Wraith wheels. Paint is Duplicolor Metal cast red over a gold base coat. He installed a styrene replica of the 426 Hemi in the bed, and inside he added a seat, racing harness and a monster tach/shift light from ExclusivRC.
