Why yes it can be! Recently I’ve had the chance to borrow one of the Kyosho Ultima SC’s from SDRC Raceway (www.sdrcraceway.com) that they use in the Learn-To-Drive program they have to teach kids about RC, and give it a go on their awesome track for a couple of race days. Some of the necessary steps I needed to take on my quest to a podium finish was to upgrade my RTR. All that is really needed is racing electronics (I experimented with Novak and LRP ESC’s and motors), and some serious racing tires (I tried AKA Rebar, Enduro and Wishbones, in the softest compound available). The easiest way to get yourself up and running is to see what the fast guys are running at your local track. Ask questions, and be patient with your progress. As you gain more racing experience, you will soon start to reap the rewards of your efforts! – Joel Navarro
