Axial SCX-10 Beater Farm Truck by Deon Person [READER’S RIDE]
Deon Person sent in this well-weathered Axial SCX-10 wearing a Pro-Line ’50s Chevy pickup body. His concept was to create a truck that been living the hard life on the farm for years. He gave it a rusty finish and dented and distressed the body underneath. The winshield is cracked and…are those bullet holes? There’s even a rag for a gas cap! It wears a set of rusted up RC4WD steel beadlocks wrapped in 1.9 Flashpoint tires. He weighted the front axle and dropped the battery down low right behind the waterproof Hitec metal-gear steering servo with a Hot Racing aluminum servo horn. Axial supplies the aluminum steering and lower suspension linkage. Hiding beneath the beater exterior is a healthy 12T brushed motor with a 16/87 gear on 3S Lipo running through a Losi water-resistant controller. From the pix its good that he chose waterproof equipment, because this old workhorse gets a workout in the mud and water!
