Associated, Reedy Sweep the US Indoor Champs

01 December, 2006

After a controversial finish, Team Associated factory driver and top qualifier Jon Orr picked up the win in the highly competitive 1/12-scale mod class at the US Indoor Champs with his Reedy-powered RC10L3. Veteran on-road driver and Team Associated factory pilot Mike Blackstock followed suit by taking the TQ honors and crossing the line first in the Touring Mod Class with his Reedy-powered TC3. Blackstock had to battle with some of the most talented drivers in the world to gain the title as US Indoor Champ, but Orr got a great start and never looked back until the last couple of second of the race where he discovered that David Spashett’s Peak Powered CEFX 12 was right on his tail and getting ready to pass him by at the finish. Although it looked like Spashett’s car was in front at the finish, the timing computer had Orr ahead by 6/100 of a second—now that’s close racing.
