Memorial Day Momentum For The JConcepts Race Team

29 May, 2020

This past weekend the JConcepts racing team was on the road attending some larger regional and national events as racing starts to ramp up more here in the States. Let’s check in on three races in particular to see how the team performed.

There was over 60 entries for this race and the race format called for two rounds of qualifying followed by a single 5 minute A Main. In the competitive 2wd Buggy class JConcepts driver Julien Oliveras TQ both rounds of qualifying to set lock up the pole position for the main event. MOD 5th Scale Championship Series

To the west in Phoenix, AZ the JConcepts team traveled to the Fear Farm to compete at the 2nd installment of this unique series. Originally intended for only 5th scale vehicles, the race promoters added a 1/8 Nitro Buggy class to this series stop since many 1/8 nitro drivers were itching to resume racing once again. The decision was a successful one since nearly 150 entries were entered into the race program. It also made for a cool atmosphere since there was a mix of 1/8 and 1/5 drivers in the pits who could talk about their respective RC genres and the differences and similarities between the different scales.

Out on the track the JConcepts team continued their winning ways at team driver Matt Olson took the win in the 4WD Pro Truck class in the 25 minute A Main.

In the competitive 1/8 Nitro Buggy classes JConcepts drivers Ryan Maifield and Spencer Rivkin would battle it out in qualifying with Ryan coming out on top by taking rounds 1 and 3. Spencer took round 2 and started right behind Ryan for the 25 minute main event. After the dust had settled Ryan would take the TQ and win with Spencer finishing in 2nd place for the weekend.
