JConcepts Takes 5 Classes At The 23rd Annual Summer Off-Road Shootout

This past weekend Rain-Man’s Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield, CA was the host of the 23rd Annual Pro-Line Summer Off-Road Shootout. The event program called for three rounds of qualifying and 13 classes to compete in. There were 160 entries for this two day event with stacked qualifiers consisting of 20 heats each and AAA 5 minute long mains. We had many JConcepts drivers in attendance competing in various classes, so let’s take a closer look at how the team performed in some of the most competitive classes.

Let’s start with the class that is always considered the premiere class to compete in at any race, Modified 2wd Buggy. Yokomo/JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield was on a mission this past weekend as he set the overall TQ with fast runs in rounds one and three. And he left no doubts in the mains as he went on to win A1 and A2 to secure the TQ and win for the weekend! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was Team Associated/JConcepts driver Broc Champlin thanks in part to his win in A3!

So it came down to A3 to determine the overall winner and Matt would cross the line in 1st place with nearly a 12 second lead over 2nd place! Team Associated/JConcepts driver Doug Lariviere would finish right next to him in 2nd place overall thanks to his win in A2.
