Renegades – Monster Truck tire
Reaching the top step on the podium is a complete racing package. The result requires the correct setup, stellar driving and just as important, a performance built tire and compound. During the glory days of monster truck racing, cut tread became a popular method of reducing weight or altering a pattern in order to tune to specific track conditions. The Renegades tire by JConcepts represents the low-profile carcass and cut-tread movement, capable of winning results straight out of the package.
The chevron style lugs has been created with specially designed back-cut tread and shaved carcass areas imitating the real thing. At rotation, the tread still stands tall and provides a hefty edge of forward grip in a variety of conditions. The back-cut section provides a small transition during high-speed corning which conform to changing terrain and obstacles. The side-walls have been treated with wording, designs and descriptions consistent with 1:1 tires during that generation of performance.
The low-profile stance of the Renegades stays very flat during race course competition, speed-runs or general use. The tire carcass profile holds the weight extremely low while the design of the tire beads allows just the right amount of contact patch for gluing and application. The Renegades measure in at 5.80 x 4.0 x 2.6” and are available in two different compounds.
The soft “blue” compound which is recommended for dirt, grass and asphalt feels noticeably mushy and sticky and has expanding characteristics similar to off-road racings outdoor compounds. The “gold” compound feels harder to the touch and excels on carpet, AstroTurf and polished concrete surfaces and expands less during high-speeds. Renegades tires are complete and include open cell “React” inserts to support the grippy tires.

Monster Trucks have always been fascinating with their stunning looks, character identities and monster sized tires. Tires remain the key item when seeing a monster for the first time and it’s no different in the world of radio control. When it’s time to outfit an R/C monster truck, it’s important to have the scale look, proportions and size associated with the larger than life beasts. Meet the Firestorm tire by JConcepts.
66 x 43x 25″ is the standard issue size of monster truck tires before any buffing or trim has been applied to the tread. JConcepts is on top of the monster truck scene with knowledge and passion reserved only to the true fans of the vehicles. The Firestorm tire packs the scale look and performance of the 1:1 tires but with the all important race concept. Inspiration has been drawn from the 1990’s era of side-by-side racing where performance, weight and appearance made all the difference.
The Firestorms roll with a scale height and width which give competition and show trucks the ground clearance, stance and forward traction necessary to look and act the part. The lowered flat bar design of the tread provides a stable lug capable of gripping an assortment of surfaces while the side-wall has plenty of strength to withstand high-speed cornering. The tire lettering has an authentic appearance indicating many of the popular wordings, warnings and details associated with large scale floatation tires. The retro style JConcepts logo pulls inspiration from a time when all out performance was priority number 1.

Tribute – 2.6 x 3.6″ Monster Truck wheel w/ adaptors
The Tribute wheel by JConcepts packs an assortment of options into a design and style that mimics the golden age of Monster Truck racing. With a list of design considerations, the team went to work on a simple and durable one-piece wheel design that was first stout and second versatile. It was important to incorporate an adaptor which could alter the off-set but also maintain a certain look made popular in the hard-core side-by-side racing days. The stepped design reduces weight but also adds rigidity for the ultimate bash and play wheel.
The Tribute wheel includes three off-set wheel adaptors. 11mm width for a stock Clod Buster or retro type Monster Truck width, 18mm for increased stability on standard wheelbase trucks and 25mm for the ultimate in footing for long wheelbase race trucks. The adaptors are installed with 6 x 2.5 x 12mm screws and centers precisely on the wheel for positive engagement. The wheels include open and closed planetary caps which attach with 6 x 2.5 x 8mm screws. The planetary caps support a scale look as well as a quick change racer function to suit individual needs.
The wheel set includes a slim, open cell insert, which can be installed as a cushion but also provides an equal platform for the tire insert to rest against. Also included is a pair of steel, serrated, 4mm thin pattern lock-nuts for greater security. The Tribute wheels are available in white, black and silver colors to match any color scheme or realistic build. The overall width of the wheels is true to scale which allows a more compact design and included reinforcement ribs on the inside help reduce hub flex.
