Alex Kosciuszek and Cole Tollard Highlight the 2019 Motorama!!

As Motorama 2019 comes to a close, the JConcepts team was extremely blessed to have such an awesome group of drivers on hand and this weekend we found a way to get the results we know we’re capable of. Motorama isn’t just a race, but the biggest NE gather and celebration for anything on wheels and the JConcepts team was on fire.

Hosted at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, Motorama isn’t your ordinary 1/8th and 1/10th scale event, but is actually part of a huge motorsport expo that incorporates ArenaCross racing, Car show, Go Kart racing, Quarter Midget racing, Scaling, Speed, show and beauty pageant all in one.

While we were here at Motorama for the 1/8th and 1/10th racing events, we couldn’t help get excited about the entire weekend because there’s so much going on. Luckily for the racers, world-famous Scotty Ernst was on hand building both dirt tracks for all of the RC racing enthusiasts to enjoy. Scotty and his team did a fantastic job in creating, maintaining, and hosting both races and we can’t thank him and his team for all that they do for RC.

By taking the best 2 of 3 qualifiers to seed for the triple A-Mains, racing was action packed as both tracks were going off at the same time keeping racers that were participating in both, extremely busy. Here’s a recap of how it all went down.

1/8th Electric Track

Team Associated/JConcepts’ Alex Kosciuszek led the charge for JConcepts on the 1/8th side as the busy college student found some time for an even busier weekend of racing. Alex put his signature colored RC8B3.1’s equipped with Finnisher Truggy and Silencer Ebuggy bodies to the test against a fast field of drivers. The results were stellar!

Expert Ebuggy

Earning the 2nd place starting spot on the grid for the triple A-Mains, Alex was close enough to the front to contest for the overall once the A-Mains were underway. From the start, Alex took his time and assessed his situation until he found the right time to attack for the lead. Once he got to the front there was no looking back as he checked out won both A1 and A2 to secure the overall in Expert Ebuggy. Wrapping up 2nd was HB Racing’s Spencer Heckert and Jacob Hardison 3rd on the podium.

Expert Etruggy

The results of the Expert Etruggy was much the same in Expert Ebuggy, but this time, AE/JConcepts’ Alex Kosciuszek started out front and led from tone to tone and won A1 and A2 to seal the deal in both his 1/8th classes over the weekend. HB Racing’s Spencer Heckert once again finished 2nd with Mugen Seiki’s Anthony Mazzara 3rd.

The JConcepts 1/10th team worked well together to find the best tire setup at the right time and here are the results.

17.5 2wd Stock SCT

In 2wd 17.5 Short Course, JConcepts’ Stuart Lewis showed very consistent runs throughout qualifying taking 2 TQ’s out of the 3 giving him the overall TQ in the class. At the start of the A-mains, Stuart used his consistency to provide him with enough speed to win A1 and A2 locking up the overall win in 17.5 SCT class with JConcepts green Dirt Webs all weekend. Adam Curry finished 2nd with JConcepts’ Matt Adams rounding out the top 3 with a terrific 3rd place finish.

17.5 2wd Stock Buggy

In the competitive 17.5 2wd Buggy class, JConcepts very own AJ Marasco also showed great pace in practice and delivered consistent runs over the weekend marking him as a front runner in the class. In qualifying, AJ grabbed a TQ in round 2 along with two 2nd’s earning him the overall TQ in 17.5 Buggy. In the main, AJ put his head down taking a well-deserved tone to tone victories in A1 and A2 showing consistent, super fast laps using JConcepts green compound Dirtwebs and F2 body. TLR’s Tyler Noon was runner up with Maclan’s Ian Maize 3rd overall.

13.5 4wd Buggy

From the start of practice to the A-Mains, JConcepts’ Reid McMichael showed that he had the pace to be at the top. With that being said Reid, made a dominating statement during qualifying taking all 3 TQ’s. Come main day Reid still had the pace leading the mains from tone to tone in A1 and A2 to take the overall win. Team Associated’s Steve Charles closed out the weekend in 2nd with Schumacher’s Jeff Statkiewicz 3rd.

Modified Stadium Truck

Cole Tollard showed that he was the man to beat during practice in Modified Stadium Truck. Cole dominated qualifying taking TQ’s in all 3 rounds of qualifying and only needing two mains with commanding leads in both mains to make him the overall champion in Mod Stadium Truck. Maclan’s Billy Vacek retained 2nd place with Jonathan Noon 3rd.

2wd Modified

Cole Tollard was on fire all weekend and 2wd Modified Buggy was no exception as he picked up 3 TQ’s in qualifying to be the class overall TQ. But during A1, Chase Lemieux put a lot of pressure on Cole making a pass for the lead on lap 5. However, Cole countered the move with ultra-fast, solid laps and made the pass back for the lead and with it the win. During A2, Cole found himself with a huge lead after throwing down some heaters during the main and was able to go tone to tone securing him a TQ and win on the podium in the 2wd Mod division. AE’s Mike Gay put on a great show and finished 2nd with Chase Lemieux 3rd to round out the top 3.

4wd Modified

4wd modified once again saw Cole Tollard dominate the qualifying rounds by taking all 3 TQ’s and the only driver able to hit the 19 lap pace. During main day, Cole found himself leading but with a little pressure from Andy Krivitz early on, but pulled away towards the end in the first two mains securing him the overall win. Solidifying the 2nd spot on the podium was Andy Krivitz with Chase Lemiuez seizing the 3rd and final spot on the podium.
