2013 JBRL Series – Round 1

JConcepts and Steven Hartson, Kody Numedahl, Jimmy Barnett and Jake Thayer take round 1 of the JBRL Series at OCRC Raceway.

The 2013 1/10th off-road racing season in Southern California always gears up toward the beginning of the year for round 1 of the JBRL Series. This year’s opening event drew drivers from all over the California, Nevada and Arizona area to battle at the famous OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. Over 300 entries packed their way into the popular racing facility to start the season off with dreams of glory and aspirations.

The JConcepts team was out in full-force racing in the modified classes and utilizing the gold Bar Codes per usual for the indoor and moist OCRC surface. Steven Hartson started things off in the SCT 2wd modified and 2wd buggy modified classes by TQing with the SC10 and B4.2 respectively. Kody Numedahl took TQ in the Racing Truck modified class over several of SoCal’s hottest drivers driving the newly released T4.2. Jimmy “OC” Barnett took care of business in the 4wd modified class with a stellar run to the top of the grid with his B44.2 buggy. Jake “Jackie” Thayer established himself TQ in the 1/8th e-buggy class The Southern California ace drivers had the vehicles on point and completely decked out with JConcepts tires, wheels, wings and bodies.

During the main events it was once again the JConcepts team leading out during the A-main events. Steven Hartson put away the 2wd modified buggy and SCT classes convincingly while Kody Numedahl locked down the Racing Truck modified class. Jimmy Barnett held up on his end of the team results by running away with the 4wd modified class and Jake Thayer providing the icing on the cake taking a wire to wire victory in the 1/8th e-buggy class.
